• In Phase 2, it’s all about target switching. Make sure you have your interrupts ready for Darkness Within to avoid healing Corrupting Shadows.

• Once Xylem hits 10% health, you’ll have a short window to eat, swap gear, and change talents before the real fight begins in Phase 2.

Phase Breakdown: Mastering Each Step

Phase 1: Archmage Xylem

In Phase 1, Xylem alternates between Frost and Arcane phases, with an Intermission in between. Here’s what you need to do:

Frost Phase:

• Razor Ice: Xylem traps you in a ring of ice, which grows tighter over time. Use a mobility cooldown like Heroic Leap (Warriors) or Disengage (Hunters) to escape. Alternatively, use AoE damage to kill one shard of the ice, allowing you to walk out. Stay on your toes getting trapped here is almost a guaranteed wipe.

• Frostbolt: Interrupt Frostbolt as often as possible to reduce the incoming damage. Frostbolt hits hard, so don’t let it stack up.

Intermission (Arcane Annihilation):

• Mirror Images: Xylem teleports and creates dozens of Mirror Images. Your task is to locate the real Xylem and focus your damage on him. To find the real Xylem, look for a shimmering sparkle on your minimap or in the field itself.

• Kill Mirror Images: Destroying these will give you a protective bubble that heals you and prevents ticking damage while moving toward the real Archmage Xylem.

Arcane Phase:

• Draw Power: A crucial interrupt, Xylem channels this ability to increase his damage. You must interrupt it immediately to avoid getting overwhelmed.

• Shadow Barrage: Purple orbs will fly toward you during this phase. Dodge these or risk getting hit hard. Stay mobile and keep an eye on his movements.

Phase 2: Corrupting Shadows

At 10% health, Xylem stops fighting, and you’ll have a brief window to swap gear, talents, and grab a quick snack before Corrupting Shadows emerges as the final boss.

Creeping Void Zone:

• As Corrupting Shadows spawns, you’ll have pools of creeping void that grow over time. You must kite him around the outer edge of the room to save space and prevent the void from consuming the entire platform.

Seed of Darkness:

• Seed of Darkness spawns three Darkness Within adds. These adds must be slowed and killed before they reach Corrupting Shadows, or he will heal for a huge amount. So, time your crowd control and DPS accordingly!

DPS Check:

• This is the real test: the longer you wait, the more adds spawn and the higher the healing for Corrupting Shadows. Focus on kiting and slowing the adds while maximizing your DPS on Corrupting Shadows.

• Frost DK: Use Anti-Magic Shell right before Razor Ice to prevent the stun and keep your momentum going.
