This 5-phase battle will have you running in circles, literally, and requires precise damage management, constant kiting, and avoiding a few unfortunate mistakes.
But don’t worry, I’m here to break down everything you need to know to win and claim the Soaring Spelltome Mount. Let’s dive in!

Key Mechanics and What to Watch Out For
The Thwarting the Twins challenge is a kite-heavy battle that demands constant mobility and quick thinking. Karam is a mobile tank, and Raest is the caster you need to focus on. Here are the key mechanics that you must manage to succeed:
Deal with Karam by kiting him around the edges of the room. Karam will drop slow puddles while moving, and if he catches you, expect massive damage.
The key here is mobility, never let Karam corner you.Focus on Raest for the damage. Don’t worry about killing Karam he’s not the priority. Your job is to damage Raest while managing adds, soaking Runes of Summoning, and interrupting Hand from Beyond when it spawns.
Save cooldowns for Phases 4 and 5, when you’ll need to soak the Rune of Summoning and handle the adds. These phases will challenge your ability to kite and manage multiple tasks at once.

Phase Breakdown: Mastering the Fight
Let’s break down each phase of the fight. This battle is a test of endurance and precision. Here’s what to expect:
Phase 1: The Chase (Karam)
Raest is immune during this phase. Your goal is to kite Karam around the room. Karam will walk faster as the phase progresses.
Rising Dragon: If Karam catches you, he’ll deal massive damage. Use permanent slows like Cripple or Frostbolt to keep him at a distance.
Puddles: Karam will drop slow puddles under him as he moves. These don’t deal damage but slow you for a significant amount. Keep moving and don’t get caught!
End of Phase: Once Karam hits ~35% HP, he will enter Purgatory to heal, and Phase 2 begins.
Phase 2: The Caster (Raest)
Raest becomes active and begins summoning small adds called Shadowy Remnants. They move slowly, but if you let them swarm you, they can cause a lot of chaos. Use AoE to deal with them while focusing on Raest.
Hand from Beyond: This is a giant hand that will cast Grasp from Beyond. Interrupt or kill this immediately, or it will one-shot you. It’s a game-changer don’t let it slip!
Phase 3: The Full Dance
Both Karam and Raest are now active. This is where most players fail.
Rune of Summoning: A purple circle will appear on the ground. You must stand in it until it disappears. If you don’t, a Thing from the Beyond will spawn and likely kill you instantly.
The Kill Order: Focus on Raest once he dies, the challenge ends, even if Karam is still alive.
Phase 4: The Final Dance
After dealing with Karam a second time, Raest becomes attackable again. This phase introduces Runes of Summoning you must stand in them until they disappear. If you miss even one, you’ll be in trouble.
The adds from Phase 2 will also spawn again, so you need to manage those while also dealing with Raest’s runes.
No more Hand from Beyond in this phase, which makes it slightly easier.
Phase 5: The Final Stand
Both Karam and Raest are targetable. The Rune of Summoning will spawn, along with Hand from Beyond, so you’ll need to deal with both.
Raest will enrage once Karam is defeated, increasing his damage by 500%. This is the final push to take him down!
The goal remains the same: Kill Raest, and the challenge will end, even if Karam is still alive.
Class-Specific Tips for Kiting and Defeating the Twins
Class choice plays a massive role in this fight. Here are some tips tailored to certain classes:
Frost Mage: Blizzard and Frozen Orb make kiting Karam much easier. Use Counterspell to interrupt Hand from Beyond and keep Raest from wiping you out.
Affliction Warlock: Use Curse of Exhaustion for a permanent slow on Karam. The Absolute Corruption talent makes it easy to just set it and forget it on Karam while focusing Raest.
Marksmanship Hunter: Binding Shot and Tar Trap will help you keep your distance. Use Concussive Shot on cooldown to slow down Karam.
Shadow Priest: Mind Bomb or Psychic Scream will help if Karam gets too close. Use these abilities to buy time for soaking the Rune of Summoning.
Tip: High-mobility classes can often “cheese” the runes by using pets or summons to soak them. However, standing in them yourself is the safest option to avoid confusion or accidental deaths.
