Greetings, Denizens of the Azeroth Galaxy!
So, you want to dominate the Prey system and emerge with mountains of Remnants of Anguish?
Well, brace yourself, and let's see the most efficient and ruthless ways to amass the currency of power in World of Warcraft: Midnight.
It's not about what you do, itâs about how you do it.

đThe Innkeeperâs Note (TL;DR)
Farming Remnants of Anguish is no longer about the time you spend; it's about the quality of your hunting, the traps you trigger, and how many alt characters you can summon to the cause. With the right strategy, you can farm like a true ruler of Azeroth, stockpiling this currency and unlocking every coveted item in Astalorâs Sanctum.
Hunt with Purpose: Completing the first 8 Prey Hunts of the week nets you 200 Remnants each.
Trap Triggering: Itâs faster to trigger traps than disarm them. Itâs simple, effective, and oh-so-rewarding.
Ambush & Riposte: Donât ignore the ambushes! Theyâll drop Anguish when the target flees.
Alt Army: Speed up your Remnants farm by leveling alts and utilizing their gains.

The Prey HuntâEfficiency at Its Finest
Ah, yes, the Prey system, your ticket to fast currency and faster rewards. To truly excel, you must approach the hunt with precision, like a Sith Lord focusing his rage.
Start by completing your first 8 Hunts of the week. Do this, and each Prey boss defeat will grant you 200 Remnants of Anguish. After that, your gains diminish. So, think of it as a law of diminishing returns; complete these hunts early and do them right.
But letâs get to the good stuff: The Trap Triggering Method. Hereâs the deal:
Trigger Traps, donât disarm them. Why? Simple. Triggering traps drops a blood globe, which gives you 5-9 Remnants of Anguish per globe.
Go to a Prey World Quest zone, walk into those bear-trap-looking objects on the ground, and boom, another blood globe. It's a passive income of currency, every single time.
The best part? Itâs incredibly efficient and much faster than killing rares or running through quests.
But wait, it gets better. If you have alt characters, use them to trigger traps in multiple zones. Thatâs right, extra Remnants, extra loot, all in half the time.
You can thank me later.

Maximizing Your Combat Efficiency
Now, letâs talk combat mechanics. You didnât think Iâd let you walk around Azeroth without an ounce of strategy, did you?
Ambush & Riposte, remember these words, for they are the keys to unlocking an XP and currency farm.
When your Prey ambushes you, youâll be left in a quick battle. Reduce their health to 50%, and theyâll flee, leaving behind a red mist trail. Follow this trail, right-click the fleeing target, and perform a Riposte. Not only does this give you a massive Hunt progress boost, but it also grants you more Remnants of Anguish.
Donât underestimate this tactic. Ambushes are a gold mine for Prey-focused players.
If you arenât using the Riposte feature after each ambush, youâre losing out on valuable Remnants.
Also, donât forget the Rare Mobs. Theyâre scattered across your world quests and hunting zones, and killing them yields guaranteed Remnants of Anguish.
You might think that farming rares is beneath you, but when those Remnants stack up, theyâre not so bad, are they?

Healing Potions & FlasksâYour Lifesaver in Hard and Nightmare Hunts
You could be casually farming a rare or fighting off multiple mobs when suddenly, your prey appears. Classic, right?
You won't have the luxury of stopping to breathe, let alone to think about your health. Trust me, I know the feeling: you're deep in the thick of it, and then... BAM!
A Prey boss ambushes you in the middle of chaos. Your health is dropping below 10%, your last few breaths are short, and thereâs no time to recover...
I always say "I'm cool..."
my wife always say that međ
This, my dear friend, is where healing potions and flasks come in, turning potential disaster into victory.
In Hard and Nightmare difficulties, you wonât get a moment to sip on a cup of tea. The Prey wonât wait.
Flasks and potions are your only ticket to survival during these frantic moments.
Whether youâre PvPing against another player or stuck in a mob-laden warzone, you need them ready, always.
Here's the deal:
Flasks: Stock up on those Flask or whatever your class needs. These will help you survive when the fight turns ugly.
Healing Potions: Donât ever underestimate a Healing Potion, especially Potion. They can bring you back from the brink of death when a Prey boss is breathing down your neck.
Trust me, your health bar wonât wait for you to catch your breath. Have these items ready, or risk becoming a footnote in some other playerâs glory.
Youâll need them to stay on top and keep the hunt going, even when youâre barely standing.
Youâve been warned.
Health is a precious thing, and in these hunts, only the prepared survive.

Alt Army - Your Force Multiplier
Use your minions, of course. Thatâs right, alts are your secret weapon. By leveling multiple characters, youâre essentially multiplying the amount of Remnants you can farm per week.
Letâs get this straight:
Once youâve capped out your prey hunts with your main, the next step is to plow through alt leveling. You can clear these Preys with alts and level them up at the same time. Thatâs a lot of Remnants coming your way.
Once you hit that sweet spot of 8 hunts per week, simply use your alts to continue grinding for Remnants. Itâs a win-win situation: you get tons of currency and unlock even more gear for your alts. What more could you ask for?
Let's not forget that the Remnants are bound to your warband; thus, you can send them to your main and shop for all rewards.
Well... except more time in the day to do it all.

Unlocking Hard and Nightmare Prey Hunts
You want the big rewards, right?
To unlock Hard and Nightmare Prey Hunts, youâll need to hit Level 90 and complete Magister Astalor Bloodswornâs introductory questline.
Once youâve done that, you can face these higher difficulties to reap the Voidlight Marl, Veteran Dawncrest gear, and even Preyseekerâs Wrath.
PREY Ultimate Pize
But for those of us chasing the ultimate prize, the Preyseekerâs Nightmare the stakes are higher. This mount is a reward from the Prey: Nightmare Mode III achievement, which demands that you track down and defeat every unique Prey target on Nightmare difficulty. Itâs a true test of dedication, so make every minute of your buffs count!

Now that you have the knowledge, the strategy, and the power to amass Remnants of Anguish at will, go forth, my apprentice!
May your alt army be vast, your traps plentiful, and your Remnants of Anguish endless.
And always remember: efficiency is the key to victory.

đFAQ / Quick Tips
How many Hunts should I do per week?
To be most efficient, you should complete exactly four Hunts. The "Rule of 4" ensures you get the massive 1,000 progress bonus per hunt. After four, the reward drops to a meager 50 progress, which isn't worth the time investment. If you have time to maximize, go 8 on each character you have, until you reach your goal with the Prey system. Mine is to get all mounts.
Where do I start the Prey system questline?
Head to Murder Row in Silvermoon City and speak with Magister Astalor Bloodsworn. He serves as the primary hub for selecting targets, upgrading your Anguish Crystal, and tracking your Preyseekerâs Journey.
What is a "Riposte" and how do I use it?
A Riposte is a high-reward counter-move. When a target ambushes you and flees (at 50% HP), they leave a red mist trail. Follow it immediately and right-click the target to Riposte; this provides a massive boost to your Hunt progress and weakens the boss for the final fight.
How do I unlock Nightmare difficulty?
Nightmare difficulty is unlocked once you reach Rank 4 on the Preyseekerâs Journey track. It is the only difficulty that contributes toward Hero-track gear in your weekly Great Vault.
Can I do Prey Hunts in a group?
Normal difficulty allows for group participation and assistance from nearby players. However, Hard and Nightmare difficulties are strictly solo. If other players interfere, the boss may despawn or fail to grant credit.
Are Prey rewards account-wide?
Yes! Your Journey Rank and unlocks are account-wide. Once you unlock Nightmare difficulty on your main, your alts (level 80+) can jump straight into high-level hunts to gear up quickly.
