Greetings, Denizens of the Azeroth Galaxy!

Ruby Life Pools returns as a legacy Mythic+ dungeon in World of Warcraft: Midnight Season 2, bringing ice storms, fire puddles, dangerous tank hits, priority interrupts, and a dragon whose preferred strategy appears to be setting the entire platform on fire.

Emperor Noob Sidious approves of fire. He approves considerably less when the healer is standing in it.

This guide follows the dungeon in order, covering the trash mechanics worth respecting, pull control, priority enemies, and the three bosses, Melidrussa Chillworn, Kokia Blazehoof, and Kyrakka with Erkhart Stormvein.

🌀The Innkeeper’s Note (TL;DR)

Ruby Life Pools rewards clean positioning more than reckless pulling. The first section punishes oversized pulls with heavy group damage, Kokia's section becomes easier when ranged enemies are brought into the tank, and the final climb can directly affect how comfortable your last boss encounter feels.

The main rules are simple:

  • Respect Group Damage: Do not combine Primal Juggernauts with too many dangerous mobs.

  • Interrupt Casters: Several pulls become easier when ranged enemies are forced into the tank's stack.

  • Use Your Edges: Both Kokia and the final boss reward smart puddle placement.

  • Save Tank Defensives: Crushing Smash, Flaming Barrage, Searing Blows, and Stormslam demand attention.

  • Purge When Available: Several enemies bring removable shields.

  • Control Your Floor Space: Ice and fire placement can decide whether later mechanics remain manageable.

  • Clear Before Kyrakka: Two or three controlled pulls upstairs can make the final encounter much cleaner.

⚡Quick Guide!

📍Location

Ruby Life Pools is located in the southeastern Waking Shores, Dragon Isles.

During Midnight Season 2, you can use the Timeways portal in Silvermoon City for quick access to Ruby Life Pools. The portal is located in the center of the Timeways portal room. Players who have timed Ruby Life Pools at +10 or higher can also use Path of the Clutch Defender from the General Spellbook to teleport directly to the dungeon.

Trash, Pull Control and Priority Targets

Path to Melidrussa Chillworn

The opening section can punish a tank who tries to turn three sensible pulls into one magnificent funeral procession.

Primal Juggernaut

  • Excavating Blast causes heavy group damage.

  • Be cautious when combining a Primal Juggernaut with several other dangerous enemies, especially when multiple sources of group damage overlap.

  • The tank also needs to prepare for:

  • Crushing Smash

  • Use mitigation before the hit lands.

Casters

  • Interrupt casts as frequently as possible.

  • Healers should also watch the group for dispellable effects during these packs.

Defier Draghar

  • Defier Draghar is the miniboss before Melidrussa.

  • Steel Barrage deals dangerous damage. Tanks should prepare mitigation, while the rest of the group should be ready to use defensives when needed.

  • Watch the ground for fire puddles and move quickly.

  • When Draghar begins:

  • Blazing Rush

  • Move away from his path.

Priority

  1. Control dangerous casters.

  2. Respect Excavating Blast.

  3. Tank defensive for Crushing Smash.

  4. Avoid Draghar's fire.

  5. Move away from Blazing Rush.

Before your key begins, remember the dungeon's core rules:

  • Melidrussa: Interrupt, manage Chillstorm, cleave whelps, clear stacks.

  • Kokia: Put elementals on the edges, keep the center clean.

  • Kyrakka and Erkhart: Dodge the frontal, control fire placement, use the columns, stop casting during Cloudburst.

  • And if your teammate still plants a giant fire puddle directly in the center...

The Emperor senses a disturbance in the Mythic+ rating.
