The Darkmoon Faire, a place of wonder, chaos, and opportunities for glory.
But to reach it, mere mortals must follow precise instructions, lest they wander aimlessly like peasants.
Listen carefully, for I shall guide you there with imperial precision.

Alliance Travelers (Stormwind) 🔵

• Mystic Mage Location: Trade District, just outside the Auction House. /way 62.38, 73.12

• Teleport Command: Speak to her and choose “Take me to the fair .staging area” for a small fee. Instant access to your destiny.

• Manual Access: Should you crave the thrill of the journey, exit Stormwind, march south to Goldshire, and find the portal just beyond the town in Elwynn Forest. Only the brave will reach it on foot!

Horde Warriors (Orgrimmar) 🔴

• Mystic Mage Location: Orgrimmar Skyway, upper level, just past the Flight Master. /way 48.01, 61.89

• Teleport Command: Speak to her and be instantaneously transported to the staging area in Mulgore for a modest fee.

• Manual Access: Prefer the hero’s trial? Head to the southwestern base of Thunder Bluff in Mulgore to find the main portal. Only the strong survive the trek.

Other Major Cities 🌍

For those who command influence across Azeroth:

• Dalaran: Center of the city, near the fountain.

• Shattrath City: Terrace of Light, just outside the Aldor Bank.

• Ironforge / Undercity: Near the main Auction House or Flight Master, because even emperors must be practical.

Fail to prepare… and you may find yourself wandering aimlessly, lost among the commoners.

Step 1: Acquire Your Ride Tickets

• March to the entrance of the Darkmoon Faire and seek out the NPC Kae Ti (or Mae Ti).

• Purchase a Darkmoon Ride Ticket Book, containing 5 tickets for a modest amount of gold.
  Think of it as an investment in your empire’s future power.

Step 2: Ride the Carousel or Roller Coaster

• Carousel: Right-click one of the animals or seats on the Darkmoon Carousel and let the magic begin.

• Roller Coaster: Prefer more thrill? Board the Darkmoon Roller Coaster nearby and embrace the chaos.

• Stack the Buff: Remain on the ride until the buff reaches its maximum duration of 60 minutes.
  Each 5-minute increment ticks automatically as long as you remain on the ride.
  Approximately 12–15 seconds is all it takes to secure a full hour.
  Imagine your enemies weeping as you soar ahead.

Step 3: Alternatives & Tips

• The “Top Hat” Option: Consume a Darkmoon Top Hat for the same 10% buff (cost: 10 Darkmoon Prize Tickets).
  Warning: the Top Hat overwrites the ride buff; they do not stack. Choose wisely.

• Beware Death: The WHEE! buff is fragile.
  Death will erase it.
  Return to the Faire or consume a Top Hat to regain your power.

• Logging Off: Fear not, the buff pauses while logged out.
  Save your empire’s advantage for your next session; your foes won’t see it coming.

Important Midnight Expansion Note

As of March 2026, the WHEE! buff does not apply to “Midnight” expansion renown factions due to a specific reputation penalty.
Plan your conquest accordingly, and avoid wasting imperial effort where it counts not.

Darkmoon Artifacts

Check your bags, you might have the Darkmoon Artifacts.
Once you get the WHEE! Buff, turn these artifacts in XP by accepting their quests and turning them in!

• One Turn-In Per Month: Each quest can only be completed once per character during each Darkmoon Faire week.

• Reputation Reward: Each turn-in grants 250 reputation with the Darkmoon Faire, making them vital for reaching Exalted or completing the "The Insane" title.

• Achievements:

  • Collecting these (and others) grants the Darkmoon Dungeoneer and Darkmoon Despoiler achievements.
