Greetings, Denizens of the Azeroth Galaxy!
WoW Midnight Patch 12.2, officially named Eclipse, will close Midnight's main story with a journey into the Mantle Vault and an eight-boss confrontation inside the Worldcore. Xal'atath is reaching for Azeroth's Worldsoul, so the usual plan of standing in fire and blaming the healer may finally be insufficient.
We won't waste your time, or your galaxy. Before Emperor Noob Sidious conquers every realm, here is every Patch 12.2 feature Blizzard has confirmed, followed by the details the studio has not announced.
WoW Patch 12.2 Eclipse is Midnight's final major content update. It adds the Mantle Vault zone, the three-boss Thraegar's Stand dungeon, The Gearhold lair, the eight-boss Worldcore raid, the Midnight's Edge legendary caster dagger, new Delves, Astalor Bloodsworn, Prey Agony Mode, Radiant Screams, expanded Paladin race options, Housing upgrades, and Midnight Season 3. Blizzard has not announced the WoW 12.2 release date.

🌀The Innkeeper’s Note (TL;DR)
Patch 12.2 is not a small bridge patch. Eclipse is the climax of Midnight's Light versus Void conflict and the last major step before World of Warcraft moves toward The Last Titan. Blizzard has revealed the broad structure, but many progression details remain hidden, including the release date, raid schedule, item levels, and Midnight's Edge quest requirements.
The date remains unknown: Blizzard has not published an exact Patch 12.2 release date.
The Worldcore is the main raid: The raid contains eight bosses, including Xal'atath.
The Mantle Vault is the new zone: This Titan vault introduces the crystalline Thraegar and the hostile Deepskar Empire.
Season 3 follows Eclipse: It brings a new eight-dungeon Mythic+ pool, a PvP season, new raids, and Delve updates.
Midnight's Edge is a caster dagger: It comes from the Worldcore, but a raid kill is only one part of its acquisition path.
Agony is Prey's final difficulty: New Prey targets and Torments will appear in the Mantle Vault.
Housing receives practical tools: Showcase, mannequins, copy-paste, multi-select, and easier décor purchasing are confirmed.

Does Patch 12.2 Have a Release Date?
No. Blizzard has not announced an exact WoW 12.2 release date.
The official BlizzCon 2026 recap confirms Eclipse and explains its main features, but it does not provide a launch day, maintenance date, or Eclipse PTR schedule. Blizzard only states that Midnight Season 3 begins shortly after Eclipse launches.
Any specific date circulating before Blizzard publishes one should be treated as a prediction, placeholder, or leak. It should not appear in this guide as confirmed information.
This section will be updated when Blizzard announces one or more of the following:
Patch 12.2 PTR opening date
Patch 12.2 release date
Worldcore raid opening schedule
Midnight Season 3 start date
Regional maintenance times
Eclipse Story and Xal'atath
Eclipse is the final major chapter of World of Warcraft: Midnight. Blizzard describes the conflict as the battle between the Light and Void turned up to its highest level, with Azeroth's champions gathering Light-wielding forces for a decisive strike against Xal'atath and the Devouring Host.
The campaign leads deeper beneath Azeroth than players have traveled before. Along the way, champions will enter hidden Titan vaults, meet new allies, fight the Devouring Host, and descend toward the Worldcore.
Xal'atath's plan centers on claiming the Worldsoul. Blizzard has confirmed she appears as a boss in the Worldcore raid, where her motivations will be revealed. The official article does not explain the ending, her fate, or how Eclipse connects scene by scene to The Last Titan.
There is one more thread hanging over the Worldcore. In a BlizzCon group interview, Blizzard developers said Sargeras's sword will be addressed during Patch 12.2. That detail comes from interview reporting rather than the official feature recap, and Blizzard has not explained the sword's role.

New Zone, The Mantle Vault
The Mantle Vault is an enormous Titan-built zone hidden beneath Azeroth for ages. It contains stone and Azerite-based wildlife, including stone worms and crystalline elementals.
This is where players meet the Thraegar, an ancient race of crystalline, dwarflike beings. They will join Azeroth's champions in resisting the Devouring Host.
The Mantle Vault also contains the Deepskar Empire, a hostile coalition separate from both the Light and Void armies. Its members include kobolds, troggs, drogbar, and niffen leaders. Blizzard's developers clarified in an interview that these are not the same niffen players met in Loamm.
What is confirmed in the Mantle Vault
A large subterranean Titan environment
The Thraegar as new allies
Stone and crystalline wildlife
The hostile Deepskar Empire
New Prey targets and Torments
Agony Mode for Prey
Radiant Screams as the zone's outdoor feature
A route toward the Worldcore
The zone map, reputation or Renown systems, currencies, world bosses, weekly quests, and flying requirements have not been announced.
New Dungeon, Thraegar's Stand
Thraegar's Stand is the new three-boss dungeon arriving with Eclipse. Blizzard has named all three encounters:
Cragcleaver and Foreman Sullk, a pair of excavation foremen
Monokk, an Azerite elemental
Stenvarg the Inevitable, a deadly Titan construct
Thraegar's Stand will enter the Midnight Season 3 Mythic+ rotation. Normal, Heroic, and Mythic availability outside the seasonal pool has not been detailed in the official recap.
No dungeon route, trash abilities, boss mechanics, loot table, timer, or Mythic+ count requirement has been published. Emperor Noob Sidious therefore recommends resisting the ancient Sith art of inventing a route before the dungeon exists.

New Lair, The Gearhold
The Gearhold is a new lair built around Noctinaxx, an enormous Azerite bat. Blizzard calls Noctinaxx one of Eclipse's new raid bosses and lists World, Normal, Heroic, and flexible Mythic difficulties.
The exact meaning of the World difficulty, group-size rules, weekly lockout, reward structure, and relationship between The Gearhold and the Worldcore raid have not been explained. For now, the safest description is simple: The Gearhold is Eclipse's separate lair encounter, and Noctinaxx is its featured boss.
New Raid, The Worldcore
The Worldcore is Patch 12.2's main raid. It contains eight bosses and brings players closer to Azeroth's Worldsoul than ever before.
Blizzard has confirmed several enemy themes inside the raid:
Void enemies
Titan constructs
Living Azerite
Xal'atath
Xal'atath is a confirmed raid boss. Blizzard's official recap does not state her position in the encounter order, although a later developer interview reported that she is the final boss. Until a raid preview or dungeon journal is published, this hub will keep the official and interview-sourced details separate.
The complete boss list, wings, raid unlock calendar, Story Mode timing, Ahead of the Curve achievement, Cutting Edge achievement, loot table, tier appearances, and item levels remain unannounced.
Midnight's Edge Legendary Caster Dagger
Midnight's Edge is the first Legendary weapon of Midnight and the first Legendary of the Worldsoul Saga. It is a caster dagger obtained through the Worldcore raid.
Blizzard made two details especially clear:
Midnight's Edge is not the Blade of the Black Empire.
Defeating the Worldcore raid is only one of several steps required to unlock it.
That wording points to a multi-step acquisition path, but Blizzard has not announced the complete quest chain, eligible classes or specializations, required raid difficulty, exact boss or item that begins the acquisition process, crafting materials, bad-luck protection, effects, or item level.
Casters may begin preparing their finest dagger transmog. Everyone else may begin preparing the traditional Legendary ritual of staring at the loot window with controlled sadness.
Midnight Season 3
Midnight Season 3 begins shortly after the launch of Eclipse. It introduces the Worldcore raid, The Gearhold lair, a new PvP season, an updated Mythic+ dungeon pool, and changes to Delves.
Midnight Season 3 Mythic+ dungeon rotation
The confirmed pool contains eight dungeons:
Blizzard says Magisters' Terrace and Maisara Cavern will receive changes and touch-ups for their return. The company has not published the seasonal affix structure, dungeon timers, reward item levels, upgrade tracks, or Keystone achievement thresholds.
New Mythic+ ranking rewards
Season 3 adds a reward tier for players who finish within the top 5 percent of Mythic+ ratings. Eligibility for the top 1 percent and top 5 percent rewards will be measured within each specialization, rather than across every Mythic+ player.
For example, a Protection Warrior will be compared with other Protection Warriors for those reward tiers. The reward designs and exact cutoff process have not been revealed.
New Delves and Astalor Bloodsworn
Delves continue in Midnight Season 3 with Valeera Sanguinar. Her companion progression receives an increased level cap and new Curios, while existing Delves gain additional variations.
The new seasonal Nemesis is Astalor Bloodsworn. Blizzard describes his challenges as optional, following the Nemesis structure used in earlier seasons. His mechanics, difficulty tiers, rewards, and narrative reason for becoming the Nemesis remain hidden.
A developer interview adds one reassuring detail for Astalor fans: Blizzard says the story is not a simple corruption plot and Astalor does not die. The exact twist remains under wraps.
Prey Agony Mode
The Prey system expands inside the Mantle Vault with new targets, new Torments, and Agony Mode. Blizzard calls Agony the final Prey difficulty.
Players will investigate the anguish stirred beneath Azeroth by Xal'atath's attempt to claim the Worldsoul. Astalor is involved in these investigations, connecting the Prey update with Season 3's Delve story.
Blizzard has not shared Agony Mode's unlock requirement, weekly cap, recommended item level, reward table, death penalty, or whether the mode changes the number of weekly hunts.
Housing Improvements
Patch 12.2 adds several tools requested by dedicated Housing builders. These are practical changes, not vague promises to move the sofa three pixels someday.
Housing Showcase
Showcase lets players browse featured homes from the Housing dashboard. Blizzard may organize showcases around collections or themed events, and selected events can offer exclusive décor rewards.
Players can submit a snapshot of their home to a Showcase. Because the submission saves the house at that moment, builders can keep decorating without changing the submitted version. Players can also create snapshots and generate Visitor Codes to share their homes.
Mannequins
Players will be able to place mannequins and dress them with unlocked gear and weapon appearances.
Copy-paste and multi-select
Copy-paste duplicates décor with the original item's size, rotation, and dye settings when the player owns the required extra décor and dyes.
Multi-select allows several décor objects to move or rotate together around one pivot point. For builders creating symmetrical rooms, this may save more time than any movement-speed enchant in Azeroth.
Easier décor purchasing
If a player owns at least one copy of a décor item, Eclipse will let them purchase more copies from inside the home as though buying from a vendor.
New Housing endeavors
Eclipse adds four endeavors. Blizzard has named one of them, Stormriders of the Isle of Dorn. The other three and their rewards have not been revealed.
New Paladin Race Options
World of Warcraft players have big news to celebrate after BlizzCon 2026, as Blizzard officially announced three highly anticipated new WoW Paladin race-class combinations coming in Patch 12.2 (Eclipse). Available for both the World of Warcraft: Midnight expansion and the newly revealed WoW Forever, players will finally be able to roll Forsaken, Night Elf, and Darkspear Troll Paladins. According to developer interviews, this massive update won't just unlock the class; each new race will get an immersive, lore-heavy story questline that provides deep cultural context for their connection to the Light. Best of all, these faction-specific Holy Warriors will ride into battle on unique racial charger mounts including a holy cat for Night Elves, an undead horse for the Forsaken, and an armored raptor for the Darkspear. Whether you are a casual lore enthusiast or a veteran min-maxer preparing for the Midnight meta, these game-changing class expansions are set to completely redefine Azeroth's holy order.
Blizzard has not announced the quest names, mount names, armor sets, racial visual effects, or character-creation timing.

Other Confirmed Patch 12.2 Features
Radiant Screams
Radiant Screams are the Mantle Vault's main outdoor feature. The Worldsoul's visions intensify as players approach the Worldcore, creating disturbances across the zone that call champions to respond. Activity rules and rewards have not been revealed.
Calibration Chamber
The Calibration Chamber is a controlled testing space for individuals, parties, and raids. Blizzard has confirmed varied target dummies, cooldown resets, and access to full raid buffs. Developers are still working through layouts and support for different combat roles, so some details may change before release.
New PvP Journey
PvP progression receives a refreshed Journey with new rewards. Blizzard has not shown the track, objectives, rating requirements, or cosmetics.
Deepskar Empire
The Deepskar Empire is a new world group in the Mantle Vault. It combines niffen, kobolds, troggs, and drogbar into a scavenging underground coalition that is hostile to the player.

Talebound is not a confirmed Patch 12.2 feature
Blizzard announced the Talebound PvE action RPG mode during the same panel, but presented it as part of the Echoes of the Worldcore content update, separate from Eclipse. Developer interview discussion associates Talebound with Patch 12.1.7. It should not be added to a Patch 12.2 features list unless Blizzard changes or clarifies that schedule.
Blizzard officially places Talebound in the Echoes of the Worldcore content update, separate from Eclipse. A BlizzCon interview referred to Echoes of the Worldcore as Patch 12.1.7, but Blizzard’s official recap does not print that patch number.
Cross-armor transmog belongs to Patch 12.2.5
The removal of armor-type transmog restrictions is planned for Patch 12.2.5, not Eclipse's initial 12.2 release. Class-specific tier appearances and weapon proficiency limits will remain restricted.
